But why?
What was so significant about this particular moment in time?
Since the Glenmorangie Company bought Ardbeg in 1997, the Distillery had been renovating and replacing building equipment. After 3 years of revival, the millennium year shift came with a monumental gear shift for Ardbeg.
2000 was the year the rocket boosters were fired up.
Ardbeg took an upward trajectory and it’s never looked back.
A COMBINATION OF OLD AND NEW
With the renovation of the Ardbeg Distillery underway, the whisky creation team used their magic on this serendipitous rare stock. Combining old and new, it merges modern, innovative whisky techniques, while still using the old Ardbeg stills.
